Méral France

Welcome to Les Ravalières ! Carp Fishing Holidays in France with luxury accommodation including a jacuzzi and pool. Now you don’t have to choose between a fishing holiday or a family holiday!! Gallien’s Reach is a 50 year old stream and spring fed lake, containing mirror carp, common carp and ghost koi. Carp to 55lb (24.95kg). It has quality water all year and is on a clay subsoil. The lake is 3 acres in size with depths ranging up to five feet. There are 2 islands roughly central and the western end of the lake is dammed. It has a hard bottom in some places and silty base in others which will make for challenging angling. There is some weed cover and lilies to fish to as well. There are 3 swims available around the lake allowing 3 anglers at any one time. Landing nets, unhooking mats and weighing slings are provided. Prior to 2020, this water had never been fished (except by family) and there were mirror and common carp in the lake when we arrived in December 2018. We enhanced the stock in February 2019 after netting the lake in December to remove excess silver fish. In December 2020 we netted to check on the progress and health of our fish. Happily they are growing really well, maintaining good health and nice proportions. During this netting we removed nearly 1 ton of silver fish, decreasing the biomass and allowing our fish to feed and grow. We increased our stock again in January, February, May and November 2020 and January 2021. Over 65 mirror carp and 13 common carp have been added ranging from 6kg (14lb) to 18kg (40lb), with the average weight now around 10kg (22lb). We also added some young ghost koi in May 2020 to grow on, some of their growth rates have been amazing. Additionally, there are zander, pike, perch, tench, roach and rudd in the lake. The fish spawned in May 2019, April 2020 and April 2021 and have been feeding well since. Over the winter of 2020 into 2021 Jon began the process of removing silt from the lake to provide increased water depth and quality. In the process finding the original river course. We have also been planting reeds, lilies and other aquatic plants to enhance the bio-diversity within the lake.

Because the lake is spring fed and with flow from the surrounding stream, water is constantly running through providing oxygen and keeping the depth at a set level. There is a small island at the one end of the lake with depths from 4 to 6 ft around it. No vehicle access is allowed around the lake but we provide trolleys for you to get your kit to the swims. We have created 8 well spaced swims each with plenty of water and staging to land the carp safely. We limit the number of anglers to 4 for individual bookings and 6 for groups giving each angler lots of space and the opportunity to move if necessary. The carp move well around the whole lake so the fishing is good in all the different areas and big carp can be caught from every swim. Iffendic France

Lake Trémelin is located 4 kilometers from the town of Iffendic, in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine (35) , in the Brittany region. In the heart of Brocéliande , west of Rennes, discover Lake Trémelin in a magnificent wooded site of 220 hectares! Bordered by a pine forest and in the center of unspoiled nature, the area has something to delight the most demanding fishermen. The south-eastern part of the lake (tail of the Filiais) is protected from all leisure activities. In other words, this part is essentially reserved for fishing . Dating from the beginning of the 19th century, with an area of ​​43 hectares , the pond is not very deep: 6 meters at the dam . The seabed is fairly regular but gently sloping (at 10 meters approximately 1.50 m of water). A shoal of 2 to 3 hectares made up of rocks is marked by markers on the left bank. A rather rare feature not to mention it: an old stone path , about 3 meters wide, crosses the lake under one meter of water. However, it is inadvisable and dangerous to want to borrow it. English, German and Dutch fishermen regularly practice the lake, which is a guarantee of quality and gives it its letters of nobility. The catches are numerous and we observe more hits at night . You have to go look for the fish far enough from the shore, 100 - 120 meters and under 4 meters of water. It is possible to make beautiful paintings of carp provided that massive baiting is avoided . The best technique is not to bring in fish (unwilling to move) on a bait shot, but rather to take them where they are. The assemblies provided with ten boilies on soluble wire seem ideal. An agreement is signed between “La Gaule d'Iffendic” and the Communauté de Communes de Montfort. Fishing rights are entrusted exclusively to “La Gaule d'Iffendic”. Non-fishermen have not been forgotten: a leisure center has been created where everyone can practice the activities of their choice. From the riding club to mountain biking to solitary hiking, everything is designed to offer a stay in a family and friendly setting. To complete it all, a campsite and 20 lodges are integrated into the complex.

Matignicourt-Goncourt France

Lake Ruby is a 19 acre gravel pit, set in the heart of the Champaign Region in France near the small village of Martinicourt Goncourt. The lake is approximately 3 1/2 hours drive from Calais, hosts a maximum of 12 anglers and has over 300 carp, including 30’s 40’s and 50’s with a lake record of 56Lb. The Stock Over 100 carp were stocked in January 2019, with the largest of our residents now weighing 56lb+. Further stockings took place February 2020 as part of an ongoing stocking programme, so it is estimated there will be 300 carp to fish for during the 2020 season. When you consider the natural food larders in Lake Ruby, combined with anglers additional particles, pellet and boilies, along with our feeding programme, it won’t be long until these carp are packing on the pounds! There are no crayfish, poisson chat, grass carp nuisance species in Lake Ruby. Facilities Our facilities can all be found in our newly built and fully furnished container. These include kitchen, toilets, hot shower and washing facilities along with a bait freezer, fridge for cold drinks and BBQ area. Swims You certainly get your fair share of water per swim and there’s always the opportunity to move swims should you wish. With the modern carp angler in mind from the outset, nine sizeable swims have been constructed around the lake to ensure maximum comfort during your weeks stay. Most swims can easily host two bivvies or shelters and all have been fitted with a weighing bar.

Rochechouart France

The 6.5 acre lake which is situated next to the accommodation, has been here since pre-Napoleonic times and is set within our private grounds, surrounded by fields and woodland. It is naturally spring fed providing high quality oxygenated water. A dam sits along the western end of the lake where the water is at it's deepest, a maximum of 8m. You can fish in a designated swim along the dam. At the east end there are two islands surrounded by streams which feed into the lake The north bank (farthest from the accommodationbut still only a short walk) is flat providing easy access to the three main swims with purpose built platforms and huts providing shelter, storage and a place to sleep when night fishing. There are some other swims along this bank. On the south side the bank slopes quite sharply, here there is one swim on top of the bank, right next to the accommodation and another in a clearing toward the more shallow end of the lake where, on summer days, fish bask protected by the exposed tree roots You don’t have to be a fisherman to enjoy this picturesque lake. The setting is beautiful and provides a peaceful place for bird/nature watching and if you fancy a walk the 1km track leads all the way around the lake. No licences are required, night fishing is permitted and the five main swims have wooden huts providing shelter from the weather and to sleep in when night fishing so no bivvies required. The lake contains in the region of 70 quality carp including 3 or 4 wild carp (often mistaken for grass carp). The largest carp caught to date (2019 season) are in the mid 40lbs region and with our current feeding regime these fish should be hitting the high 40's by next season. There are also many tench, up to 5lbs, along with roach, rudd, specimen perch, a few pike and other small silver fish. There is a stone tackle hut next to the lake which can be used for storage. Here you will also find a fridge for storing bait. We can arrange for exclusive use of the lake for your party during your stay for a small extra charge. Hookbait, groundbait and rigs are available for purchase on site at very reasonable prices. Bed chairs and a baitboat are available to hire. Big Mamma was slightly down in weight at 35.3 kilos, but the smile on Marc's face has not left him, that's for sure.⁠
He landed the chunk from a lake in the Extremadura region of western Spain during a holiday. ⁠
Our man used a method that carpers back home are very familiar with – solid bags.⁠
He went with a small Disperse PVA bag packed with stick mix and maggots, a section of SubZero leader and a rig made with a size 6 Ape-X Straight Point hook and a six-centimetre section of 25lb CamoX soft coated hooklink.⁠
Hookbait was two pieces of fake corn and maggots.⁠

The lac de Vassivière or Vassivière Lake (French pronunciation: ​[vasivjɛʁ]; Vacivièra in Occitan), one of France's largest artificial lakes, is a large man-made reservoir of about 10 square kilometres (2,500 acres). It is situated on the Plateau de Millevaches in the départements of Creuse and Haute-Vienne. It is the largest area of water in the Limousin region of France and provides water supplies, hydroelectricity, and leisure facilities. With a maximum depth of 35m for 108 million m3. Relatively clean and varied funds with large plateaus, shoals, pits and a few stumps. Relatively gentle slopes. In 1995, following the emptying, a fish farming plan was put in place to repopulate it with cyprinids and predators (Amount of the operation: € 61,000). The lake is now mainly fry with cyprinids and pike. Every year at the end of September, at the beginning of October, the level of the lake is lowered voluntarily in order to be able to collect and store the water from the autumn rains and winter snowmelt which are very abundant in this region. The Lake is supplied mainly by the Maulde, the Taurion (via the Lavaud Gelade canal) and the Vienne via the Servière and Faux la Montagne dams. Other small streams also flow into its waters. There are five boat launches: Port Crozat (Auphelle), Pierrefitte, Port de Nergout, Port de Vauveix and Broussas. During strong winter tidal ranges, only the Broussas launch can be used. Winters are often synonymous with cold weather with dense snowfall. Summers, on the contrary, are very pleasant. The inter-seasons are rather mild with a cool and humid spring and an autumn often accompanied by the Indian summer. One of the islands in the lake covers 70 hectares of land

Oaks is also not dissimilar to our other lakes, and is around 2 acres in size. The depths are between 3ft and 13ft, and the lake bed is again gravel, stone and some small silt beds. The margins are quite deep in places, and will be a productive place to fish – there are also gullies and holes to fish too. There is a very good head of 30lb+, with the largest coming out so far at 44lb. There are 5 large swims to fish from, which very comfortably accommodates 2 anglers. Les Etangs De L’Ecurie is a perfect place for carp fishing in france if you want EXCLUSIVE USE of a lake. We are nestled in the Pays De La Loire in stunning countryside, less than 4 hours from Calais and just over an hour from Caen and St Malo. In the heart of a wild and unspoiled setting, it is one of the largest lakes in the Landes. Its area is 340 hectares. Curton Lake, also called Rainbow Lake, is located in the middle of the pines, in the Bordeaux region. This specimen lake lodges 2 carp of more than 80 pounds including a mirror of 94 pounds, more than 42 Kgs and a common of more than 41 kilos. From a depth of 1.50 m to 15 m, with two large wooded islands of 2 ha and many islets, this set is a delight for carp as well as for fishermen. Record catches: Mirror carp of 42,600Kg caught by Martin Locke in January 2010 The biggest known carp: 8 over 70 pounds & 2 over 80 pounds. The new joint record stands at 41.2 kilos. She was captured in November 2012 by Eric Smith Another carp weighing 38.5 kilos; was captured in 2010 by Martin Locke A path all around gives access by car to all the fishing stations. A club house (showers, WC, telephone) is available to carp anglers and accompanying persons. Entirely fenced site and the presence of a guard guaranteeing you good security. Lake Paladru, also called blue lake, is the 5th largest natural lake in France with its 392 hectares; it will seduce you with its crystal clear waters, the beauty of its surrounding landscapes and its density of fish of all kinds. The site is also remarkable for its 7 protected natural areas including that of the large reeds located north of the lake, a privileged place for nesting birds (mallards, swans, coots or crested grebes) and fish spawning (carp, tench, etc.) ; these reed beds remain inaccessible. Lake Paladru is located in the department of Isère and more precisely in the region of the Miocene hills of the lower Dauphinée, called Terres froides, approximately between the towns of Voiron and La Tour-du-Pin. Note: 80% of the banks are private; impossible to fish there from the banks. Maximum tidal range: 2.5m High density of whitefish and lake trout. Slightly uneven topographic profile with steep banks except in a few places where there are shoals and lakeside chalk beaches. Strong nautical activity in summer.

“Autumn is a very exciting time for me as it’s a great time to catch big river carp here in Europe the fish are very active and it’s a time I’ll always opt to use a big quantity of bait, when it comes to finding fish I’ll be looking for deeper areas mostly opting to fish right out in the middle of the river bed .. one particular autumn night spent on the Moselle river with a few friend came good ,Arriving after them I jumped strait in the zodiac dingy dropping my lines in the deeper part of the river and baited with 2kg of pure boil per rod.
my two extricators are in place and my riots are ready to do battle. Before I even manage to eat any of my food the rod was away and I had a catfish to start l, 
I re placed the rods and the second ones away. On contact I can feel it’s a big carp . 15 minutes of fighting later this amazing common was mine so if you fish in Europe this autumn don’t ignore the river !”

Lake One offers Exclusive Carp Fishing for a group of up to 3 anglers, lake record of 56lb a stunning common - this lake has plenty of surprises. Last season we netted the lake and then added 30 new fish ranging from 17lb to 24lb a mix of mirror, leather & common carp, they’ve had a good first season in 2020 mixed with longer resting periods than usual however we’ve seen good growth already and now they are preparing for 2021. Access is available all around the venue. Stock : Large stock of Mirrors & Commons to 56lb , 3 fish over 50lb and 6 fish close to breaking that weight mark. Lots of fish 30lb to 45lb. 30 new fish 17lb to 24lb introduced 2019. Other species : Zander (Lake record 9lb) & Crucian Lake bed : Clay Features : Over hanging bushes, Drop offs, Dam Wall, Riverbed & Sleuth. Access : Walk all around the lake. Riaillé France

The pond of Provostière is located in the town of Riaillé , in the department of Loire-Atlantique (44) , in the Pays de la Loire region. Covering an area of 73 hectares , it is linked to Lake Vioreau by the Rigole des Ajaux. This assembly is part of the supply system of the Nantes to Brest canal. A 5.5 km path on which is located a bird observatory , allows you to go around the pond. It is a remarkable natural site , integrated into an ecological complex classified Natura 2000 . The variations in the water level cause the vegetation present on the shores to change significantly. This particularly rich environment is home to several heritage species including the officinal gratiole and the lake shoreline (nationally protected species). It is a wild, shallow , gently sloping plain pond , with mostly muddy bottoms , in which large areas of water lilies are present.

Offoy France

Take a drive into the heart of Picardie, Northern France, and experience the delights of Le Domain des iles. The 60 acres of water on this private estate plays host to about 1,000 specimen carp upto 66lbs, with almost one hundred in the 40 to 60lb bracket. The complex, which is located within the most gorgeous settings, consists of three lakes which originally where all connected to each other by channels where the carp could move from lake to lake, however to enhance the quality of the fishing the channels have been blocked off so that we can offer differant styles of fishing. The main lake is limited to 12 anglers and offers the very realistic chance of some huge fish. There is one main Lodge at the North east end of the lake which when booked includes the 4 swims at that corner of the lake. There are also 2 cabins situated next to each other where it is possible to fish from the cabins. The lake record of 66 pounds is to be found in this lake along with a lot of the other big fish. As an added bonus 152 catfish where stocked into this lake in Jan 2000 ranging from 3 pounds to 30 pounds, and as expected these have piled on the weight pretty rapidly due to the amount of small fish in the lake and are now between 20 and 60 pounds. There are now 6 new benchessituated around the main lake with power socket, lights and fridge. There are also lights and power situated in the swims. The lake bottom is clear firm peat and there is no weed to hinder you. We now have a brand new luxery lodge which offers superb facilities for maximum comfort whilst fishing, including satelite tv, fridge freezer, cooking hob, microwave, large shower, toilet, 3 bedrooms, plates, cuttlery, cooking utensils. Why not book the lodge and back lake exclusivly and fish your own private estate lake. The back lake is about 7 acres and is limited to 6 anglers, as well as the originals this lake has been stocked with 400 carp to offer some easier fishing. the fish range from doubles to 40 pounds with the odd bigger fish which go upto a verified 52 pound common carp.

Landswater Lakes manages two fishing lakes in north-west Germany, near the Dutch border. Our first and smaller lake "CARPNADO lake" is 5.5-6ha/13.6-14.8ac in size (water surface!). Of a very particular shape, the lake extends over 4 municipalities: Tanneron, Montauroux, Callian and Les Adrets de l'Estérel. To the south, it receives the waters of the Maraval and Fontesante streams, to the east of the Riou Fer, to the west of the Ermite, the Camiole and the Biançon, and to the north of the Siagne by a bypass channel. lnitially intended for the production of hydroelectric power, the lake has become a coveted but still fragile recreational area. It is up to everyone to respect the site, in particular its fauna and flora. On the eastern part of the lake is the Fondurane biological reserve managed by CEN Paca, the conservatory of natural areas of Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur. A Mecca for predator and carp fishing, the Lake stands out for the presence of large fish. From playful bleak fishing on the surface to the practice of float-tube, Lake Saint-Cassien is the destination for all anglers!

Are you one of the many anglers that don’t want to fish for carp that have been caught week in and week out. Etang Du Manoir’s venue is very much a virgin lake and still unknown. We have a great stock of fish of which some are still yet to be caught. The lake has a large head of fish over 40lb, and good 10+ fish that are over 50lb, with one of them being 56lb+, but we’re sure this will reach 60lb this year. The lake is an old gravel-pit of 7 acres. Winter is here and it’s time to think carefully about the bait you will be using this winter if you’re brave enough to endure the elements including the long dark nights. For those of you unaware, a carp doesn’t have a stomach, it has a digestive tract. Making them voracious feeders when the conditions are favourable. Figures vary but it’s believed the biological optimum temperature for a carp’s digestion is said to be around 27 degrees. Drop that temperature by a considerable amount and that effective digestive tract becomes less than efficient when ingesting a large number of the baits used in the warmer months, due to the high levels of oils and fats used in their production.
