Gimone Lake
Lake Gimone spans three departments , the Haute-Garonne, the Gers and the Hautes Pyrénées . Thus, it extends over six municipalities, three in Haute-Garonne, Boulogne-sur-Gesse, Péguilhan and Lunax, two in Gers, Saint-Blancard and Lalanne-Arqué, and one municipality Thermes Magnoac in Hautes Pyrénées. Its waters are retained by a dam extending over the Gimone valley. This dam was built to collect rainwater and water from the Pyrenees . Lake Gimone (or commonly called Lake Lunax) has an area of 260 hectares for a length of nearly 6 kilometers and with a capacity of 25 million cubic meters of water. It offers a rich fish diversity with a large population of predators (pikeperch, perch, trout or even pike, more recently the presence of catfish), white fish (roach, bream, ruddfish) and a remarkable population of carp. common areas and mirrors with subjects weighing 20 kg . It is a lake suitable for relaxing fishing or fishing from a boat. It is very popular with nature lovers, tourists and fishermen for its wild and idyllic setting in front of the Pyrenees .
