Our exclusive family friendly fishing venue Firs Lake France provides quality Carp Fishing in France with accommodation.  Located in Ruillé-le-Gravelais near Loiron, in the Pays de la Loire region of France.
The beautiful 2.5 acre lake is well stocked with French Mirror Carp and Common Carp over 40lb and Catfish over 75lb.
Providing exclusive carp fishing holidays in France, in just 1 hour 30 minutes from the nearest ferry port of St Malo.  Less than 2 hours 30 minutes from Caen and 5 hours from Calais.  Also for anyone wishing to fly, Rennes airport is only 45 minutes away.
Firs Lake France is a beautiful exclusive French carp and catfish lake.  The lake and its accommodation are available to hire on a weekly basis for your use only.  Perfectly suited for families, couples or fishing friends looking for a quiet relaxing time. Firs Lake is family friendly and well behaved dogs are also allowed, so no one needs to miss out.

The Lake

This small exclusive carp lake also known as The Firs is a beautiful 2.5 acre lake in the heart of rural France, providing exclusive carp fishing France with accommodation. 
Although 2.5 acres is by no means small, Firs Lake is a more intimate lake compared to some big carp lakes in France over 100 acres in size! 
The lake has 3 sensibly spaced, good sized gravel swims, plus access around the entire lake, giving plenty of options and unlimited stalking potential.  With an average depth of 4-6ft with a clay and gravel bottom and some large areas of silt that the carp love. 
The land is surrounded by Laurel hedges and a huge variety of mature trees including stunning fir trees.  With its own island and many trees creating fish holding overhangs, as well as marginal reeds, gravel patches, weed patches and lily pads providing a variety of natural features. 

FIRS LAKE TOP TIP – Look out for the gravel areas and feeding holes around the margins near the reeds and the over hanging trees.  The fish often show themselves regularly on the same spot giving away important clues to their favourite feeding spots!

Fish safety is extremely import to us.  To ensure fish safety and to minimise disease risk, we provide our guests with some fish landing and safety equipment.
All landing nets, unhooking mats and weigh scales are provided.  This also gives you a bit more space in the car for your journey too.  

In November 2007 Firs was restocked by the previous owners with locally reared Carp from a fish farmer in nearby Pouance, introducing up to 80 fish from 15lb – low 40’s. An excellent head of large Catfish to over 75lbs help to control the smaller spawned fish. The former owners also added a further 60 carp up to low 40′s in late 2011.
Throughout the year the fish at Firs Lake are fed on premium grade low oil pellets.  The Carp and Cats LOVE these pellets, which are used by many fish farmers throughout France and UK. 

Without doubt we highly recommend buying a sack of house pellet from us for your trip – please ask when you book. 

3 Rod limit for each angler
Minimum 15lb breaking strain line (Recommended 18lb+)
Fresh or Frozen Boilies only (Shelf-Life Boilies or Pop-Ups may be used for hookbaits only).
Pre-prepared Hemp and Particles only (e.g. Ready cooked and prepared tubs or jars – NO cooking or preparing of particle allowed on site)
Barbless or Micro barb hooks
Bait boats are allowed, please use them sensibly
No fixed lead systems, please use a safe lead system where the lead can be dumped if snagged, for example:
Lead clip setup
Inline drop off
Running rig
Naked Chod rigs  
No Leadcore leaders 
No sacking of fish (you may briefly retain a fish in the sling while
No bait to be left on rigs when you bring your rods in due to wildlife.
Please “kneel” when taking photos of fish and insure the unhooking mat is underneath or take photos of your catch in the water, NEVER stand holding the fish
Do not leave your rods un-attended
No Fires, fire pits or BBQs around the lake (A BBQ is provided and to be used on the patio only) 
No swimming in the lake. Wading in the margins to bait-up, cast, play, photograph or return fish etc is acceptable.
No rubbish or discarded line to be left around the lake
A rowing boat is available for your use (at your own risk), life jackets must be worn at all times. If you get snagged up while playing a fish please use the boat and make every effort to free (and hopefully land) the fish, whilst being mindful of your own safety.
Please keep bait, fishing tackle and wet fishing equipment in the “Fisherman’s Den” and not in the house.
Landing nets, Unhooking mats etc are stored the Fisherman Den on your arrival and should be returned here at the end of your visit (equipment must NOT be left round the lake please return it here before your departure).
Inside the Fisherman’s Den you will also find a large chest freezer and stand up fridge freezer for you to store your bait
