The lake
At a short distance of the well-known French theme park Le Pal, you will find Windmill Lake, the dream of the Dutch entrepreneurs Anton & Diane since 2005: a cosy domain which excels in piece, beauty, service and an excellent carp stock! The large lake is approx. 8 acres in size and has 5 islands. Right at the lakeside, you may find 3 accommodations: a lovely 4p. mobile home with a covered terrace at swim 4 and two smaller 2p. chalets with a covered terrace at swim 1 and 2. In total, 4 swims are created, that can be fished by 4 anglers maximum.
Windmill Lake is a totally secure place and offers an oasis of calmness and peace in which you can perfectly enjoy your fishing holiday. Should you feel the need to be more active: the domain has a WiFi-connection and electricity (paid on site) on each swim. At a short driving distance, you can also enjoy a number of activities, of which the Le Pal theme park is the most exciting!
The domain is not only a true gem for serious carp anglers, but also non-angling friends or family members will enjoy their time at Windmill Lake. As ‘top of the bill’, the owners Anton & Diane offer an excellent catering of breakfast, lunch and evening meals. As they have a professional background in catering, we can truly recommend you to taste their lovely meals. You may choose to have meals delivered to your swim or enjoy them at the restaurant.
The carpstock
The stock consists of about 129 carp, with a nice mixture of commons, mirrors and grasscarp. Eight carp currently weigh over 45lb and the biggest carp was exactly 55lb caught at October 2020. The average weight of the catches is above 30lb, and weeks in which multiple thirties and forties are caught are quite common. Next, to the impressive carp stock, some very large pike are stocked on the lake. Just adjacent to the lake, a smaller stalking lake can be found in which you can perfectly fish with the float for small carp. It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce juniors or non-anglers to our fantastic sport!
The facilities
The main facilities offer a separate ladies- and gentlemen’s bathroom and are directly on site. Here you will find a toilet, shower (incl. free use of biological soap and shampoo). There also is a swimming pool on site, which can be used for a small weekly fee of € 5,- per person. The swimming pool is unheated and can be cold in the spring and autumn. Each swim has a WiFi-connection and electricity (paid on site). 

3 accommodations are available:

Chalet (2-person) at swim 1 for max. 1 angler and 1 non-angler
A nice and clean 2-person chalet with covered terrace. The chalet has a living room, kitchen (with gas, electricity, freezer and fridge) and one 2p. bedroom. Bed sheets are not supplied, and you have to make use of the toilet and shower in the main facilities.

Chalet (2-person) at swim 2 for max. 1 angler and 1 non-angler
A nice and clean 2-person chalet with covered terrace. The chalet has a living room, kitchen (with gas, electricity, freezer and fridge) and one 2p. bedroom. Bed sheets are not supplied, and you have to make use of the toilet and shower in the main facilities.

Large caravan (4-person) at swim 4 for max. 2 anglers and 2 non-anglers
A lovely 4-person caravan with a covered terrace directly placed at swim 3 & 4. The caravan has a large living room, kitchen (with gas, electricity, freezer and fridge), two bedrooms (1 with double bed and 1 with 2 single beds) including bed sheets and toilet. For a shower, you have to make use of the main facilities.
 

 

Strict rules have been set at Windmill Lake. Please respect the rules for your own pleasure, and that of your fellow anglers. The lake owner had the right to remove you from the property in case the rules stated below are not respected.
Time of arrival: strictly 13:00 (please inform The Carp Specialist when you arrive later)

Maximum three rods per angler
Braided mainline is not allowed
Leadcore is not allowed
Unhookingmats and weighslings are supplied on site
No sacking or retaining of fish allowed
No hooks bigger than size 4
Micro-barbed hooks only
No bent-hook rigs
Fixed-rigs are not allowed. Use safetyrigs. Please ensure that the lead can slide over all knots (f.e. when using a shock leader)
Rowing boats are allowed at your own risk and peril and only permitted if you rent the lake on an exclusive basis. The use of a life jacket is compulsory: please bring your own if you would like to use a boat
Bait boats are allowed
Please keep a bucket of water at hand to keep the fish wet at the unhooking mat, and to rinse your unhooking mat after use to prevent cross-contamination from parasites
The use of antiseptic treatment is obligatory with each catch
Please keep noise such as radios to an acceptable level and prevent bright lighting
Rods must not be left unattended when lines are in the water
Please keep your swim clean, use the bins provided for litter and cigarette ends
Swimming is not allowed
Children are under the sole responsibility of their parents or tutors
Marking or mutilation of the fish is strictly forbidden. Offenders will be prosecuted
Commercially prepared particles from bait companies are allowed in small quantities. It is strictly forbidden to use home-made particles. Please use a maximum of 1kg of bait per person per day
All guests on site found not respecting the rules will be expulsed without compensation. The management reserves the right to check your fishing set-up, bait and transport. In case you break any of the rules, you'll get a yellow card. At the second yellow card, you'll get a red card and will be asked to leave Windmill Lake without a right for refund.
The Carp Specialist and the lake owner on site can not be held responsible for any injury, theft or damage occurred to you or you property on site, unless it’s the result of a serious failure that we can be accounted for. Due to the sheer size of our estates, it is impossible to fully fence and protect them. We would like to stress that you are responsible for your own materials on site, and that any theft is very difficult to be insured. Precaution is advised.
Please contact us when you would like to bring a dog, due to the French law we have to examine each individual request. The owner has a dog as well. Bringing your dog is your own responsibility and dogs need to be on a line 24/7. Excrements need to be removed and per dog a supplement of € 15,- per week is charged on site.
