Etang de Villaine offers some of the best carp lake fishing in France.  Our 6-acre stream-fed lake dates back to Napoleonic times and is set in 37 acres of beautiful French countryside. The lake is partially surrounded by willow and oak trees and shrubs providing both shelter and shade for all weather conditions.  Etang de Villaine also provides the anglers with spectacular countryside views -" A breathtaking experience in itself " 

Each of the 6 swims have been extended and wood chipped, providing a spacious and comfortable space for bivvies and rods. Wooden platforms have been added for easy fish catch and release access. There are also pergolas either side of the lake with a bench to enjoy your meals.

Etang de Villaine is managed and run by a British Carp Angler with over 20 years of experience and is suitable to both a beginner and the most discerning of carp anglers.

No licenses or permits are required.
NO Sacking of fish at anytime.
No keep nets or carp sacks allowed.
Only landing nets / unhooking cots & weigh slings supplied by us are to be used. All Supplied free of charge.
Any Carp over 40 lb must be photographed in the lake - There will be no exceptions. 
40 lb plus Carp are only allowed onto the bank for hook removal, weighing and treatment with a carp care kit.
All fish caught must stay in the landing net until the sling and cradle are wet, the scales are zeroed, and the cameras are ready to be used.
While fishing never leave a carp unattended in a weigh sling.
All Carp are to be returned to the lake as soon as possible.
All unhooking mats and slings must be wet before use.
No braided main lines, except for markers are to be used for fishing.
15lb main line minimum .
Barbed and micro-barbed hooks only - No barbless.
Only coated braid to be used for hook links i.e Snakebite etc.
Maximum 3 rods per angler.
No Particle baits or shelf life boilies. 
ONLY fresh/frozen BOILIES and PELLET PERMITTED.
Only the MCF dumper lead clip , Korda heli-safe or any equivalent system are permitted for rigs.
Report all tackle losses immediately.
No nuts of any kind permitted.
No Fires at any time
Swims to be kept litter free and bins used.
Klinik or equivalent carp care treatment to be used on all caught fish.
Minimum age for anglers - 16.  
No excessive consumption of alcohol permitted. If we consider you have drunk too much, you will not be permitted to fish until you are sober. 
No use of any illegal substances permitted on the premises.
You will only be allowed to start fishing once your set up has been checked. 
All rigs will be checked at regular intervals throughout the week.   
All lake rules will also be provided in your own personal folder to keep for the weeks stay.
