Carp Pit Ammerstol

This Carp Pit is een unique piece of nature in the Krimpenerwaard with a historical link to being an old ice rink with a small house at the waterfront.

The wide open water is an ideal living space adjacent a channel (wetering) which runs from Ammerstol tot Lekkerkerk. You will experience a very free feeling in a typical Dutch (polder) landscape, without any adjacend road traffic or walking trails.

The carp pit is about 10.000 m2 large and accesible from one long side. De water is connected to a 10 to 15m wide access canal behind the house. The depth of the carp water runs from 50cm to 1.5m with two small islands surrounded by reed.

Jonge franse karperThe carps have planty space to grow, thanks to a large dredging action in 2010.In 2012 we added 77 beautifull young french carps and in 2013 we received a donation of 11 more.

In 2019 we added 50 beautifull Czech and Hongarian carps.
The last big modification of the water size was accomplished in 2013.
Removing land at the long side of the water has made it wider with larger pits and nice shelters.

House to pass the night
This plain small house with simple facilities has one living room, a toilet and a small kitchen with a jerrycan water and gas. It is allowed to camp with a small tent or bivvy on the grass in front of the house.

Amount of rods
You are allowed to use a maximum of 3 rods. Fishing with three or more people you can only use 2 rods per person. Your catch is not for consumption, place back the carp.

Boat
You are allowed to use the small rowboat for fishing. There is no open water connection. The water is closed for other boats from outside
