The Carouge reservoir is a pond located in the town of Brétigny sur Orge, in the department of Essonne (91), in the Île-de-France region. The Carouge retention basin with its neighbor the Le Petit Paris pond were originally dug to contain and prevent overflows from the Orge River. Old gravel pits provided the materials for road construction. Located in the heart of vast wetlands and in unspoiled nature, this site is a must for nature lovers, walkers and fishermen. It offers good fishing conditions and has a good piscicultural density of white fish (bleak, roach, bream, tench), a good population of predators (pike perch, pike, perch) and common carp of intermediate size.
