Le Thouet – Parcours St-Jacques-de-Thouars
The St-Jacques-de-Thouars night carp course is located on the Thouet river, in the Deux-Sèvres department (79), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The Thouet is one of the last tributaries of the left bank of the Loire. 142 km long, the Thouet is born in Gâtine poitevine, the last southern avatar, with the Vendée Bocage, of the Armorican Massif, at an altitude of 225 meters. Its source, located to the west of the Deux-Sèvres department, near the Pointerie farm in the territory of the municipality of Le Beugnon, near Secondigny, is close to that of the Nantes Sèvre. It has a good fish density of white fish, predators (pike, pike perch, perch, catfish) and a population of common wild carps and mirrors of intermediate size, combative but difficult to catch. Fishing pressure is still relatively low.
