Le Canal de la Dive – Secteur Curçay sur Dive
The Canal de la Dive - Sector Curçay sur Dive - (or Dive du Sud) is a French river that crosses the departments of Deux-Sèvres (79) and Vienne (86). It is a tributary of the Clain on the left bank, a sub-tributary of the Loire via the Clain, then via the Vienne. 44 kilometers in length, the Dive du Sud begins in Saint-Coutant in the Deux-Sèvres department at an altitude of more or less 170 meters. Crisscrossing rural and wooded landscapes, this narrow and low-flow channel offers good fishing conditions on its course and has a good fish population of predators (pike, perch), white fish and common carp of intermediate size. It is a famous and popular canal for pike and perch fishing.
