St Marc Dam Lake
The St Marc Dam Lake is a dam lake located in the town of St Laurent Les Eglises in the Haute Vienne department, in the New Aquitaine region, in central France. Located in a preserved and wild natural setting, for an area of 130 hectares, the Lac de Barrage de St Marc is part of a succession of dams fed on the bed of the river Le Thaurion. The Thaurion valley presents an exceptional biological diversity . Its relief presents an alternation of wild and wooded gorges, flat and calmer areas , and vast peaty areas on the Millevaches plateau . It is a very popular place for nature lovers and fishermen because it offers great fishing opportunities, all in a magnificent environment. In addition, it has a great fish diversity in predators (pike, zander, perch), white fish (roach, rudd, tench, bream) and a remarkable herd of common carp and mirrors recognized at the national level.
