Lake of Vaivre
Lac de Vaivre is an artificial lake located in the western suburbs of Vesoul , in the town of Vaivre-et-Montoille, in the department of Haute-Saône (70) , in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. At an altitude of 210 meters, with an area of 95 hectares , Lac de Vaivre is a protected natural site with exceptional flora and fauna. Classified as a natural area of ecological, faunal and floristic interest , it is an essential place for tourists, nature lovers, walkers and fishermen. It is home to an incredible ornithological wealth with the presence of many migratory birds such as the heron, the stork, the seagull, the gull, the tern, the coot, the kite and many others. Many species of mammals are present on the lake and its surroundings such as the European weasel, the aquatic crossop and the polecat. It has a rich fish diversity in white fish (bleak, roach, bream, chub), predators (pike, zander, perch, catfish) and common carp and medium-sized mirror with beautiful subjects easily reaching 15 kg.
