St Étienne-Cantalès Lake
The lake of St Étienne-Cantalès is located in the department of Cantal (15) , in the central massif , in the municipalities of Saint-Étienne-Cantalès, Saint-Gérations, Pers, Omps, Lacapelle-Viescamp and Saint-Mamet-la -Salvetat. The Lake St Étienne-Cantalès is the largest artificial lake of Auvergne . With its 563 hectares , it is located in a remarkable hilly, wooded and spectacular setting due to its very jagged shape and the presence of numerous islands and peninsulas. The depth of the lake varies from 7 meters to 70 meters in places . It offers a rich and varied fish population with the presence of large predators (pike perch, pike, perch and catfish) and a remarkable density of very large common and mirror carps. It is a site very popular with fishermen, nature lovers and tourists for its wild and unspoiled environment.

Rules
Any fisherman fishing at night must signal his presence by a permanent light point. Night parking for boats is prohibited on this lake with the exception of official launchings. Following the different between carp and predator fishers, the Cantal Fishing Federation would like that during the day, carp anglers do not stretch their lines beyond the median axis of the area on which they are fishing. Boat fishing is authorized there in accordance with the regulations (speed limited to 6 km / h).
