Lake Grangent

Lake Grangent is located between the municipalities of Aurec-sur-Loire and Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert, in the Loire department (42), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

At the heart of the Loire gorges, 28 kilometers long, Lake Grangent is a magnificent 365 hectare water reservoir, created on the river in 1957.

The lake is surrounded by light woods and dark forests, moors and meadows, plateaus, panoramic ridges and dark valleys, but also wild streams . Villages, towers and castles give the picturesque appearance of the place.

It conceals an exceptional fauna and flora and shelters a rich fish diversity.

Pleasantly located on the edge of the lake, the village of Saint-Victor-sur-Loire has a pleasant sandy beach encouraging relaxation, a marina and a nautical base allowing the practice of many activities such as as sailing, pedal boating, canoeing, fishing or even water skiing. Of cruises on the lake are also available.

As access to the banks requires a motorized boat to reach most of the stations, night carp fishing offers low pressure. However, it will be necessary to know how to find the fish in this immensity of water and not to hesitate to use "homing heads" to flush out the carp.
