Hostens Lakes
The Hostens lakes are a natural area located in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne forest in Gironde (33), in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, in the south of France. The Hostens estate is located about sixty kilometers from Bordeaux. It hosts 5 large lakes open to fishing and tourist activities. More than 150 hectares of water bodies are open to fishermen to track carp, pike, perch and black bass. For the record, the Domaine des Lacs d'Hostens was at the time a lignite extraction site and it was from 1970 that the site was gradually transformed into a leisure area with beautiful white sand beaches. . Today, the Domaine d'Hostens is recognized as a Sensitive Natural Area (ENS) belonging to the Natura 2000 Zone.

Fishing with vegetable baits only. No carp caught by amateur anglers may be held in captivity or transported from half an hour after sunset until half an hour before sunrise. The carp will therefore be returned to the water immediately after capture. Night Carp FD33 compulsory. Boat fishing (including float-tube) is prohibited as is the use of remote-controlled boats to bait, set lines or sound out. 4 rods per fisherman. Gironde fishing federation rules apply
