Mas Chaban Lake
The Mas Chaban lake is an artificial lake created by the construction of a dam, filled with water in 2000, a structure located in the Moulde, in the Charente (16) department , in the municipalities of Lésignac-Durand and Massignac, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It is located 3.5 kilometers west of its neighbor the Lavaud dam lake , with which it forms the lakes of Haute-Charente . Benefiting from a wooded and preserved environment , these two water reservoirs attract many species of birds such as the heron, the barking knight, the great crested grebe or the Eurasian coot. These wild birds can be admired from the ornithological observatory of Foucherie. FOR an area of 171 hectares , it offers a beautiful setting that lovers of nature and fishing will appreciate. He has, like his sidekick, a rich fish diversity in predators (pike, pike perch, perch) and in common carp and mirrors of intermediate size with subjects weighing up to 20 kg.
