Étang du Puits is an artificial lake located in the towns of Argent-sur-Sauldre, Clémont and Cerdon, in the departments of Loiret (45) and Cher (18) in the Center Val de Loire region. Covering an area of 180 hectares and with a maximum depth of 10 meters, the Etang du Puits is the largest lake in the Sologne natural region, dug to supply the Sauldre canal. In a natural and unspoiled setting, it is a magnificent site made up of natural environments and diverse landscapes which houses an ornithological reserve. It has a rich fish diversity in predators (pike, pikeperch, perch) in white fish (roach, bream) and a very beautiful herd of common and mirror carp of intermediate size. It is a very popular place for fishermen, hikers, tourists and nature lovers. You can also practice many water activities such as sailing, water skiing, rowing, canoeing or simply strolling on this shores and observe its remarkable flora and fauna.

Carp fishing only on marked areas. Only baits, baits and vegetable baits are authorized. Single hook fishing only. The release of all fish caught at night must be immediate and is compulsory (cf. prefectural decree). The lines should not be launched more than 200 meters. Any transfer to another body of water or watercourse is strictly prohibited. Federal card compulsory for all fishermen from a department other than the Cher. Information: Leisure center on site with nautical activities: Sailing / Canoeing / Rowing / Water skiing. Picnic area / Play area.
