Salagou Lake

The Lac du Salagou is an artificial lake located in the commune of Clermont-l'Hérault in the department of Hérault in the South of France.

It is a vast body of water, with an area of ​​750 hectares and a depth of up to 45 meters , in the middle of hills of arid red rocks, classified as a NATURA 2000 Site .

It is a space which offers a combination of geological phenomena giving a surprising palette of colors and contrasting decorations . All in a breathtaking panorama.

It presents a preserved environment and ideal for leisure activities such as fishing, hiking, mountain biking or family walks.

It makes fishermen happy because the fish are very well represented : it has a very large population of predators (pike, pike perch, perch), a very beautiful population of white fish (roach, tench, rudd, bream, crucian) and a large population of common and mirror carp.

Only the use of bait of plant origin is authorized.
The deposit of lines by boat beyond 80 meters is prohibited.
Filed lines must be marked.
Fires are prohibited.
The use of a thermal engine boat is prohibited.
Fishermen practicing night fishing are required to identify themselves by a luminous device.
Camping is prohibited. Only an umbrella tent set up after 8 p.m. and dismantled before 8 a.m. is tolerated for night carp fishing.
Two parts of the lake are placed in temporary reserves from April 1 to May 31 (During this period all fishing is prohibited):
The reed bed of the Octon bay (from the submerged bridge).
The reed bed of the bay of the peninsula of Rouen (from the 1st point on the right to the 1st point on the left).
