The Hautibus lake is located in the town of Argenton-Château, in the Deux-Sèvres department (79), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. This artificial lake was built in 1969 in the steep and rocky valley of the Ouère. It is dominated by the site of La Salette and the ruins of the old castle. This 7 hectare body of water is surrounded by woods and hillsides. The site is Natura 2000 classified. On site: beach (swimming prohibited), hiking / mountain biking circuits, fishing (night carp course), pedal boats, canoeing, picnic. In the immediate vicinity: Lac restaurant and Lac d'Hautibus campsite.
