Lac de Caramany
Lake Agly or Lake Caramany extends over four municipalities : Caramany, Trilla, Ansignan and Cassagnes, in the department of Pyrénées-Orientales (66), in the Occitanie region. It is an artificial water reservoir of 170 hectares . Put in water in 1994 after 4 years of work, it participates in the flood control and the storage of drinking water. Lake Agly is very popular for its varied and wild landscape , alternating holm oaks and Fenouillèdes vines. The lake is recognized to be a privileged site for fishing: The only lake navigable by boat in the Pyrénées-Orientales , several courses have been designed for lovers of trout, carp, perch and pike: night course, No Kill course, etc. The lake has a rich fish population of white fish (roach, rudd, bream), predators (pike, pike perch, perch, trout and catfish) and common and mirror carp with an average weight of 10 kg. It is a magnificent site for relaxation and the practice of fishing.
