Bin el Ouidane
Lake Bin el Ouidane (apprx. 3000 ha) is home to some of the largest Carp in the world with a current fully scaled mirror lake record of a 73.6 lbs (33.4 kg) by Ralf Emmerich from Germany. The Carp are still young, stocked in 1994 from a fast growing strain of Hungarian linear mirror. Cirka 90% of the carp are commons, the remaining 10% consists out of mirror, linear, leather and full scaled carps. With snow capped mountains, lush green valleys and remote pinnacles, the lake offers a real escape from the busy european lakes. The surrounding landscape of BEO is truly breathtaking, just being present on the lake is an experience in its own right. The backdrops of the rich red clays, mountains and blue sky's are stunning, and the calm, still, stary nights have a magical feel to them. Although the water levels fluctuate throughout the year, when full BEO is c. 15,000 acres. As the water levels recede during the summer months, hundreds of small islands and plateaus are exposed, allowing anglers to fish from these often amazing undiscovered new swims. The rise and fall of water levels has never effected the fishing, we've had huge hauls of fish when the lake is extremely low, and equally big hits of fish when its at its peak!
