Lac de Castelnau-Lassouts-Lous ou “Cabanac”
Internationally renowned, the Lac de Castelnau-Lassouts-Lous dit Cabanac is nestled in gorges, a stone's throw from the villages of Saint - Geniez - d'Olt and Saint - Eulalie d'Olt, in the Aveyron department (12) , in the Occitanie region. The flagship of the Aveyron lakes, approximately 15 kilometers in length, the Lac de Castelnau-Lassouts-Lous covers an area of 263 hectares with a maximum depth of 45 meters. The reputation of this lake for its high densities of carp and predators is well established. The practice of fishing is influenced by the floods from the Lot. Easy to access upstream, the lake is steeped in downstream. A peripheral road allows access to remote stations. The use of a boat makes it possible to fully appreciate the fishing potential of this lake. Fishing is practiced most of the time near the banks or near the bed of the Lot. Internal regulations are in place on the lake (see sign for launching ramps).
