Etang du Comte
The Etang du Comte is located in the town of Culoz, in the department of Ain (01), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in France. It is a close neighbor of L’étang de la Rica, from which it is separated only by a dike over which a railway line passes. Covering an area of 7 to 8 hectares and a depth of between three and five meters, this former wild-looking gravel pit with its borders of rushes and its beds of water lilies, shelters in its waters large carp including the average is between 8 and 12 kilos. Its gravel and decaying substrate, fairly poor in natural food, make fishing fairly easy as long as the baits chosen provide the carp with the elements they need. It offers good fishing conditions and has a good fish population of predators (pike, pike perch, perch), white fish (bleak, roach, bream) and common carp of intermediate size.
