Lac du Bois-Joalland is located near the town of St-Nazaire, in the Loire-Atlantique department (44), in the Pays de la Loire region. Covering an area of 65 hectares, it is the largest of the basins at the gates of the city of St-Nazaire. You can park easily at the edge of the lake, route du Bois-Joalland; you will also find a motorhome area nearby. The tour of the lake is about 3 kilometers and opens up lovely perspectives on the water. A nautical base for sailing and rowing is located there.

It is prohibited day and night to transport live a carp of more than 60 cm. From one ½ after going to bed until one ½ after rising, no carp caught by anglers may be kept in captivity or transported. Vegetable baits are the only authorized baits. Only biwys, shelters and brolly tents are authorized (green or camouflage colors).
