La Sèvre Nantaise – Secteur Mortagne
The night carp course in the Mortagne sector is located on the Sèvre Nantaise river, in the French department of Vendée (85), in the Pays-de-la-Loire region. The Sèvre nantaise (Sector Mortagne) has its source at an altitude of 215 m on the Gâtines plateau. This source consists of several arms. One part from the village of Gâs in the commune of Neuvy-Bouin and another from the north of the commune of Beugnon, both in Deux-Sèvres. It then crosses the departments of Vendée, Maine-et-Loire and Loire-Atlantique in a north-westerly direction, before flowing into the Loire at Nantes (Nantes Sud district). It offers a great fish wealth with the presence of many species of white fish, predators and cyprinids. The fishing pressure is relatively low and the carp are not suspicious. The main difficulty of fishing lies in the wind and the current which is quite strong especially at the beginning of the season. But it is all these random conditions that make the charm of river fishing ... The carp are cut to fight against the current and offer magnificent fights. For the posts, it will be necessary to look in priority for posts sheltered from the current, a dead arm, an island point, a hole followed by a shoal and congested places (submerged branches, grass beds, water lilies).
