La Garonne – Sur tout le département
The Garonne river is entirely used for night carp fishing on both banks in the Tarn-et-Garonne department (82), in the Occitanie region. It is an immense playground: backwaters, rafts, eddies, pits, islands… The fishing possibilities are enormous! Upstream of the Saint Nicolas lake, the fishing pressure is very low, there is still a lot to discover. At the Golfech nuclear power station, the flow of the Garonne river was diverted to supply the hydroelectric power station. On the Short Circuity Section (TCC) which bypasses the site of the nuclear power plant, 6 weirs follow one another in barely 15 km. The density of carp is impressive and the fishing is easy because the constraints linked to the current do not exist there. It is a good destination for those who want to beat their record for number of runs.
