La rivière Vendée – Secteur Velluire
The night carp courses in the Velluire sector are located on the Vendée river, in the French department of Vendée (85), in the Pays-de-la-Loire region. It gave its name and a tributary of the coastal river Sèvre Niortaise. The length of its waterway is 82.5 kilometers. Taking its source in Saint-Paul-en-Gâtine in Deux-Sèvres (79), it crosses the town of Fontenay-le-Comte, and empties into the Sèvre Niortaise at L'Île-d'Elle, near Marans . It offers a great fish wealth with the presence of many species of white fish (roach, bream, rudd, barbel), predators (perch, pike perch, pike) and common carp of intermediate size. The fishing pressure is relatively low and the carp are not suspicious. The main difficulty of fishing lies in the wind and the current which is quite strong especially at the beginning of the season. But it is all these random conditions that make the charm of river fishing. Carp are cut to fight against the current and offer magnificent fights. For posts, it will be necessary to look first for posts sheltered from the current, a dead arm, an island point, a hole followed by a shoal and congested places (submerged branches, grass beds, water lilies).
