The Clos pond is located in the village of Clos, in the Loire-Atlantique department (44), in the Pays de la Loire region. It is crossed right through by the Order. The Erdre, which has its source in Erdre-en-Anjou, about twenty kilometers north-west of Angers in Maine-et-Loire, is a French river, and a tributary of the Loire, in which it is throws in Nantes in Loire-Atlantique. Its length is 97.4 kilometers. The banks of the Erdre are bordered by numerous manors, parks and castles. Francis I considered this watercourse "the most beautiful river in France".

It is prohibited day and night to transport live a carp of more than 60 cm. From one ½ after going to bed until one ½ after rising, no carp caught by anglers may be kept in captivity or transported. Vegetable baits are the only authorized baits. Only biwys, shelters and brolly tents are authorized (green or camouflage colors).
