The Montchanin pond is an artificial lake located in the town of the same name, in the department of Saône-et-Loire (71), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. With an area of 50 hectares, along the Canal du Center, the Montchanin pond is an ideal place for an outing or a fishing trip with family or friends. it offers good fishing conditions and has a good piscicultural density of white fish (bleak, roach, bream), a good population of predators (pike perch, pike, perch) and common carp of intermediate size. AAPPMA stockings and fishing competitions take place there regularly. It is a very popular pond with locals, walkers and fishermen.

Fishing will only be carried out using vegetable baits and from the banks. From half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise, no carp caught by amateur anglers can be kept in captivity or transported. At all times, no carp over 60 centimeters may be transported alive. On the rivers belonging to the public domain, different uses are present. In all circumstances, priority is given to navigation.
