L’Yonne
The Yonne is a French river flowing in the departments of Nièvre (58), Yonne (89) and Seine et Marne (77), in the regions of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Île-de-France. The Yonne is a river in the northern half of France, it gave its name to the Yonne department. It originates in a peat bog on Mont Préneley at an altitude of 738 meters, in the heart of the La Gravelle forest in the Morvan massif. By its length of 292 kilometers, the Yonne is the 16th largest river in France and represents the main left bank tributary of the Seine. It flows into the latter at Montereau-Fault-Yonne, in the department of Seine-et-Marne. It is classified navigable over 108 kilometers from Auxerre to Montereau and has 26 locks on its course. It is connected to the Saône by the Burgundy Canal, and to the Loire by the Nivernais Canal. It offers good fishing conditions and has a good fish diversity in white fish (bleak, roach, bream), predators (pike perch, pike, perch, large catfish) and common carp and mirrors of intermediate size with specimens. easily reaching 20 kg.
