Lac du Jaunay , in the Vendée department ( 85 ) is a must-see destination in the Pays des Achards. A preserved and protected natural area , Lac du Jaunay is a very popular place of passage for certain species of birds. It is also home to animals with a “photogenic” reputation: green tree frogs, gray herons, kingfishers, mallards, otters, genets and tawny owls. The Lac du Jaunay is a reserve of drinking water : swimming and thermal engine boats are prohibited. The slightly uneven bottoms still reach 6 meters. A fry of 600 kilos of carp was carried out in 2020.

It is forbidden, day or night, to transport a live carp of more than 60 cm . From one ½ after going to bed to one ½ after rising, no carp caught by anglers may be kept in captivity or transported.
