Description

French carp fishing is a real pleasure at this 40-year-old tree lined mature lake with a variety of willow, birch and larch trees surrounding its border making it one of the original lakes in France.

The average depth of this lake is 10 feet, with a bottom of silt and gravel. There is no weed to speak of and no hidden snags to catch you out, making the fishing enjoyable. Although the bottom is uniform you can find little drop offs and gravel bars where the fish tend to be caught from. Near one end there is an island where many fish feed. The lake is fully fenced and secure and we are on hand daily either at the lake or on the telephone 24/7 should you need any assistance. We like to feel we offer a more "personal touch" to your fishing holiday.

Bill’s Lake 1 is a drive and survive lake booked from Saturday to Saturday, your arrival time is 9am, please wait at the gates to be called in so that we can be ready to welcome you. The draw for swims takes place at 10am prompt, so don’t be late! At the end of your week, swims must be vacated by 9am

The lake is stocked with big carp to over 74lb, commons to over 63lb and grass carp to over 61lb and we have many, many fish over the 50lb bracket. There are also Catfish to 122lb, if you dare! Fish of this size are not always easy to catch in any of our fishing lakes so we would class this lake as a medium difficulty water, interesting to seasoned and novice anglers alike. However...some carp anglers make it look very easy! Each week sees huge fish on the bank and most of our clients go away with new records.

Each swim for your French carp fishing experience has been sympathetically designed to make it as comfortable as possible for you to fish from and each angler has plenty of water to fish to. Parking facilities are found behind every swim and there is stepped access to the water’s edge. The 5 double swims are equipped with an angler’s shelter with a picnic bench, ideal to make your base camp. These swims also have raised solid platforms for disposable BBQ's and come with weigh tripod and euro size unhooking mat. There is a wheelie bin, recycling bags and a crate for your empty bottles so that you can keep your swim tidy.
