The Saône - Thoissey in the Ain - is a river in eastern France, the main tributary of the Rhône. With a length of nearly 480 kilometers, it is the ninth longest river in France. The Saône has its source in Vioménil at the foot of Ménamont, south of the Seuil de Lorraine (Vosges department), at an altitude of 405 m. It merges with the Rhône at Lyon, at an altitude of 163 meters. The Saône is one of the most beautiful rivers in France, whose gentle slope and regular flow make it an easy and gentle waterway.
